Frequently asked questions
Answers about capturing problems, pricing, accuracy and your data in Stemulus.
What subjects does Stemulus handle?
Stemulus is built for STEM homework: math and science problems that can be worked through step by step. Each solution is labeled with its subject, and math is typeset the way it appears in a textbook.
Which devices does it run on?
iPhone, iPad, and Mac, running iOS 26.5, iPadOS 26.5, or macOS 26.5 or later. The app is in English.
Can I use it without an account?
Yes. No sign-in is needed to check problems or subscribe, and every new account starts with 10 free scan credits. Link an Apple or Google account when you want to use your access on other platforms.
How much does it cost?
Stemulus Pro is $4.99 per week in the US and includes 100 problem checks or study generations per rolling seven days. Or buy 50 Scan Credits for $2.99 once, with one credit per problem check. Local prices are shown in the App Store before you buy. There is no free trial.
Does opening a saved solution use a credit?
No. Reopening saved solutions, study guides and practice sets is free, and saved guides and practice sets work offline. Credits or allowance are used only when you check a new problem or generate a new guide or practice set.
Is capturing a problem the same as sending it?
No. A capture, photo or typed problem goes into a preview first. Nothing is sent and nothing is charged until you choose Check Problem.
Are the answers always right?
No. Solutions are AI-generated and can contain mistakes, and Stemulus says so on every solution. Supported arithmetic is checked by substituting the result back in, and when a check cannot confirm an answer the solution tells you to review it.
Does it just give me the answer?
It shows every step of the solution, numbered in order, with the reason for each step. In practice rounds the worked answer stays hidden until you ask for it, hints come one at a time, and revealing an answer does not count as getting it right.
Do my problems sync between devices?
Not yet. Assignments, saved problems, study guides and practice sets are stored on the device where you made them.
How do I cancel the subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Choose Manage Apple Subscription in your Stemulus account, or open your App Store account settings. Deleting your Stemulus account does not cancel an Apple subscription.
